MOZAMBIQUE’s SEBASTIAO ALBA – 1940 – 2000
Read up about the sad tale of this Portugese poet born in Braga but who lived a larger part of his life in the Portugese colony of Mozambique. According to Wikipedia (which I highly doubt their sources sometimes), he was a journalist in Mozambique and published three books of poetry before his decline occasioned by alcoholism. During the last period of his life, he was believed to have written poems and texts on scrap papers, napkinswhich have been posthumously compiled in a book called “Albas” edited in 2003.
