Writers Space Africa is a African literary magazine which churns out stories that celebrate the richness of African diversity, particularly in the continent’s storytelling. The magazine also boasts of an accommodating forum where African creatives are able to forward their works for critiquing, as well as useful learning materials to aid the creative process.
Writers Space Africa releases one publication each month, and the magazine is calling for entries in respect of its December issue.The previous edition featured gripping literature from Kenya, Uganda and South Africa.
For December, the theme is, predictably, Christmas. Writers are expected to send in previously unpublished works centred on the Yuletide season. Sub-themes could be; Finding Love at Christmas, Heartbreak at Christmas, or even alien invasion at Christmas.
For short stories, the maximum word count is 750 words. It is 1,200 words for articles and essays, 1,000 words for plays, and poetry must not exceed 18 lines. All documents must be in Ms-Word format, and only one genre is permissible for each prospective contributor.
Deadline for submissions is 15th November 2017. Shortlisted contributors will be contacted by 25th November 2017.
