A special call for submissions from Boston Review ‘s fiction editor and best selling author, Junot Díaz:
Throughout 2017, The Boston Review will feature stories, essays, and interviews on the theme of global dystopias. The project will culminate in a special print issue in the fall of 2017.
They are seeking essays, interviews, and fiction from writers around the globe that engage the theme of dystopia. Nonfiction, personal essay, genre fiction (SF, fantasy, horror, Afrofuturist, slipstream), and work that resides across/between genres are welcome.
Submissions might explore, but are not limited to:
1. Inequality / precarity
2. Climate change
3. Global democracy
4. Civic media and civic imaginaries
5. Afrofuturism
6. The War on Terror
7. The Global South
8. International politics and speculative futures
9. Post-humanisms
10. The future of females
11. Gendered violence
12. Radical futurities
The submissions period is open for fiction and nonfiction via Submittable until May 1, 2017. .
