Lecturer in World Literatures in English at the University of Sussex. His teaching and research interests include memorialisation; trauma and culture; representations of contemporary conflict and genocide; diaspora and migrant writing; contemporary South African literature; post-9/11 American fiction and reportage. He has published work that engages with postcolonial literature and theory, with a particular interest in contemporary Anglophone African writing.
