To explore the beauty of ts capable disobedience on pages that insist it be a certain way. To rest perky and tight or pale because such a wondrous canvas is most certainly intricate.”
Temitope Owolabi has experience writing fiction and essays with themes that typically explore the delicateness of love and effects of loss. She was shortlisted for the Miles Morland Writing Scholarship in 2020 and her short story Luggage made the Royal Society of Literature longlist. She won second place in the Mo Siewcharran Prize for her first manuscript Alien go Home in 2019 and was also shortlisted for the Brittle Paper Award for Creative non-fiction for her essay The Smell of Oxford in the same year. In 2015, she was one of twenty-five selected to participate in the yearly Farafina creative writing workshop hosted by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in Lagos Nigeria.
