“The theme for this year’s IWD is “choose to challenge” and I believe this is a clarion call for women in the literary sector. It’s time for us to bet on ourselves. It’s time to self-publish, self-fund and self-promote our work and stop waiting on others to tell us what is acceptable. My hope is that we learn to harness the power of our unique creative gifts and use them to build a beautiful tapestry of art that will change the world and inspire the women who come after us. Yes we can.”
