The Second edition of Nigerian Writers Awards ceremony held on February 19, 2017 at Ace Olivia, Lagos City Mall, Onikan Lagos and was a success.
The 2017 edition tagged “Unity in Diversity” was well attended by creme de la creme of Lagos society, among which were Senator Bode Olajumoke, Jamiu Abiola (Late MKO Abiola Son), Dr. Denja Abdullahi (President, Association of Nigerian Authors), Eriata Oribhabor (Coordinator, Poets in Nigeria), Lekan Otufodurin (Online Editor, The Nation Newspaper), Jide Johnson (Deputy Provost, Nigerian Institute of Journalism), Alhaji Waheed Olalekan- (Director, National Orientation Agency), renowned journalists, authors, writers in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
Nigerian Writers Awards (NWA) is a platform organized to reward excellence, network, celebrate Nigerian Writers of different genres, create a synergy between budding and established writers in Nigeria and in the diaspora. It is the first of its kind awards to reward writers of different genres and writers’ supportive brands.
