2016 has been another year of revelations, new discoveries of exceptional talent and writing but  more importantly for African Literature. In making up our top 10 (14) authors for 2016, it was a difficult decision as quite a lot of these African authors have made a mark this year or before  with some winning prestigious prizes and some authoring remarkable books before or in 2016 nonetheless. We at BM and with some nominations by Sinawo Bukani and Joel Benjamin have put forward a list.They are in no particular order:
